OUR MISSION is to advocate for and work towards a constantly improving, strong and healthy community in which many work and live. Springfield is fortunate to have a civic association or civic council for each of its diverse neighborhoods. These organizations serve as a liaison with city government and contribute to strong neighborhoods. Some of the civic associations are funded by the city, others are not. The Sixteen Acres Civic Association, Inc. is funded solely from contributions and dues from our members. Any person living in Sixteen Acres is eligible for membership into the Association.

THE SIXTEEN ACRES NEIGHBORHOOD is located in the southeastern part of the city, beginning about three miles from the Central Business District. It is Springfield's largest neighborhood, containing 4,506 acres plus rights of way and water bodies. Principal boundaries are Watershops Pond and the North Branch of the Mill River to the north; the Town of East Longmeadow to the south; Schneelock Brook to the west; and the Town of Wilbraham to the east. Meetings of the association are held on the third Tuesday of the month, except for January, July and August, at the Greenleaf Community Center, 1187 ½ Parker St., Springfield beginning at 7 p.m.
